Although that feeling of not being the reason why everyone is uncomfortable is a goal. Doing what works right for me is a deal I don’t trade with. I face a lot of questions and compliments during pregnancy. Questions like; you still have the strength to look good? You don’t mess everywhere with saliva? why is your leg not swollen? ‘You are still looking beautiful and fit’, ‘Pregnancy look good on you’ etc.

Of course, it can look good on anyone who wants to give birth to a beautiful life. knowing that it’s a decision l took to have beautiful creatures after me. It is enough reason to make it all fun and look good.

The source of every beauty is internal before it takes effect on the external. In other words, if the inner body is not taken care of, the outside will definitely be a mess irrespective of how you tend to package it. It feels so good to share this awesome tips with you.

Applying these simple tips for a healthy and beautiful pregnancy journey will make your pregnancy journey more beautiful from inside and out.

Stay Hydrated

Staying hydrated is my no one method not only during Pregnancy but at all times. It’s my habit to consume plenty of Water daily. The importance of water cannot be over emphasized. Water flushes out the toxins from your body. It keeps your skin hydrated and helps promotes healthy and clear looking skin.

In contrast, dehydration can cause your skin to look dry. This is because our organs tend to pull Water from the skin cells as blood gets thicker.

The secret of beautiful-looking skin during this time is taking at least two litres of water every day. Which is also relevant for your baby.

Eat Healthy Foods

You don’t really have to break the bank to achieve a healthy diet. There is a popular saying that you are what you eat. Even though cravings for junkies may surface, my focus is the safety and nutritional content of what I eat at a given time. Having in mind that this is not just about immediate satisfaction, rather it is my health and that of my baby. I like eating foods which contain Omega oils such as nuts, eggs, and fish etc. These help keep my skin smooth. Legumes, fruits, and leafy veggies, berries, chocolate ( contain vitamins  A, C, and E that helps fight wrinkles) these are all enough to give me that glow.

Moisturize your skin with a natural body oil

keeping your skin moisturized is very essential during pregnancy. Pregnancy stretches our skin. The best way I fight stretch marks is by taking super good care of my skin. I achieve this by applying good natural body oil, like sweet almond oil, olive oil, shea butter, etc. Using any of these to gently massage belly, breast and hip which is where this stretch marks take effect will help to repair and beautify the skin and prevent stretch marks.

Sleep Well

Sleep helps your skin repair damages that occur during hormonal changes. It reduces dark circles, and gives your skin that well-rested look. Irrespective of the schedule of my day, I try to achieve a good sleep.

Right Cleansing

Hormonal changes are bound to occur while pregnant but you can help your skin manage these changes. Any product you use during the nine months must be gentle and must not contain any harmful chemicals. Skin is very sensitive during Pregnancy. Making use of a gentle exfoliator or a product that will not irritate your skin and cause breakouts is a better option.

Protect Yourself against the sun

It is very essential you protect your skin against direct sun rays during pregnancy. This can be achieved by using an umbrella or wearing broad-brimmed sun hats. It is essential that you check with your doctor or Pharmacist for Pregnancy friendly sunscreen creams or lotions that contain mineral filters such as zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. These block your skin against UVA and UVB rays, by creating a barrier against the harsh sun rays.

Avoid Toxic Ingredients

If you love makeup, make sure you use the right lipstick, mascara, concealer, and foundation that does not have any harsh chemicals, as that may cause acne.

Avoiding chemicals like parabens, phthalates, formaldehyde, salicylic and beta-hydroxy acids, toluene, dihydroxyacetone (DHA), and aluminum chloride is a great way of ensuring your skin is protected from damage.

Before using any creams, including acne cream, ensure you check for the ingredients or check with your doctor before using it.

Take Prenatal Drugs

Prenatal vitamins is very important to both mum and baby, and its recommended daily, consult your health care giver for the one suitable for you. I make it a habit to take prenatal drugs daily.

A complete prenatal drug must contain folic acid which is the most important among all (helps in baby’s brain and spinal cord development), I made it a habit to take prenatal drugs every morning. This nutrient reduces the risk of serious birth defects such as spina bifida and anencephaly.

In conclusion, Pregnancy can be a challenging time for you. With many things you worry about, find a way to relieve yourself of any worry. I use music, jokes, and water to occupy myself anytime anxiety wants to have its way. Above all, I commit myself and baby to God through Prayer. I believe if you can adhere to these simple tips for a healthy and beautiful pregnancy journey, your pregnancy stage would be fun.
